In my spare time, I paint some pictures of legionaries, with Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop. This one is a picture of a roman soldier, fully equiped, like they were in flavian times. It’s really complicated to draw an ancient soldier, because of all the tiny details…

Roman legionary

This soldier is ready to fight, with his Lorica Segmentata (armour), his pilum and gladius. He don’t have the heavy equipment used to walk, like the water or a change of clothes, only his weapons. I hope to use this picture in our pedagogical projects.
